Our People:

I believe in challenging the status quo in a quest to improve the way we live, work and play in cities.
I am a celebrated thought leader, agent of change, and a trusted cities advisor working at the nexus of behaviour change and urban regeneration.
I have extensive design and delivery experience of award winning private and public urban development outcomes in Australia, the Pacific, the Middle East, Northern Africa, UK and New Zealand.
I jumped ship from the West Island (Australia) in 2017 to explore the maunga and moana of Aotearoa, and settled in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Approach:

Building capacity and capability in your organisation to scale up the urban change process.

As an Urban Pirate, I’m an agile and passionate city-shaping expert. I am able to offer a range of consultancy services including change leadership, specialist facilitation and strategy development, through to delivering street transformations and event production.

The common thread among these services is a love for cities and for the humans that inhabit them.

By helping people inside and outside your organisation to collaboratively design and understand change, you can achieve greater benefits, in a shorter timeframe, with lower costs.

Our work:

The Access for Everyone pilot project supported the investigation and consultation process through trials and tactical urbanism interventions.

The High Street case study tested new ways to engage with stakeholders and citizens, through the physical demonstration of the changes proposed.

Talking change raises fears. Demonstrating change builds new habits.

The Access for Everyone concept is a revolutionary holistic approach to city-shaping, and is recognised as a Flagship by Waka Kotahi (New Zealand Transport Agency) as part of their nationwide Mode Shift Programme in New Zealand.

A fundamental part of the Access for Everyone concept is to reduce private vehicle access to city centre streets and prioritise pedestrian and active travel modes. This is a key move towards a more sustainable future.

The Access for Everyone concept was the brainchild of celebrated Urban Designer Kent Lundberg of MRCagney, and developed for Council adoption by the Auckland Design Office [RIP], as part of the celebrated City Centre Master Plan, in April 2020.
